This book is organized around the simulation of computer elements using SimpleScalar software that is distributed under an open source model. The beginning of the book introduces to Linux operating system and SimpleScalar software. The chapters of the book contain topics on simulation of: cache memory and its efficiency, dependence of CPU efficiency on its organization, instruction execution pipeline, and branch prediction.

This book is written to be a supporting material for the lectures in computer architecture and organization. It is organized to help undergraduate students to set the experiments, develop competencies in analyzing and interpreting the results.

This book is dedicated for undergraduate students of Faculty of Electronics of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University that attend undergraduate course Computer Architecture or Design of Computer Elements. This book could be helpful for students of different faculties and for all individuals that have some interest in computer architecture and organization.
