In the dissertation the methods for evaluation of initial state of building, renovation measures applied in practice and scientific research are analyzed. Also multi-criteria methods and application of continual improvement for building sector are analyzed. Aim of the work – to create the algorithm of expert system for management of building energy performance characteristics which sustainably evaluate the potential of building renovation and more effective energy consumption.The results can be used for building maintenance planners, managers and modernization of buildings assessors for preparation of modernization plans for more efficient and better quality of building energy management in concept of sustainability principles.

The dissertation consists of the introduction of the dissertation, 3 chapters, general conclusions, references, authors published works on the topicof dissertation and addenda.

In the first chapter of dissertation the methods for evaluation of building energy consumption and heat balance equations applied in practice and scientific research are analyzed. The criteria of evaluation of energy efficiency measures are reviewed together with decision making methods and principles of continual supervision of building and analysis. The engineers practicians as well as scientists raise a question how to get qualitative energetics services by supplying less energy. Research, studies are performed; methodologies are created to answer this question. In this chapter research and methods are described which where basis for creation of model of sustainable management of building energy performance characteristics.

The model of sustainable management of building energy performance characteristics, which was created, is presented in the second chapter. This model is designed for continual management and supervision of building and for planning the possibility of building retrofit.

In the third chapter the analysis of case study for two real buildings is performed. The aim of case study is to examine usage of the model described in second chapter and the application of model in the management of the building.

10 articles focusing on the subject of the discussed dissertation are published: two articles in the journal indexed by index Copernicus, one article in ISI Web of Science data base, one article in material reviewed during international electronical conference, three articles during international conference and three during the national conferences.

The results of dissertation have been presented in 7 conferences in Lithuania and abroad.
