Description

The residential complexes of mass construction in Lithuania (built in the 1960s and 1990s) are traces of the Soviet version of modernist architecture that have survived and still remain in many cities of Lithuania. The authors of the publication „Architecture of Mass Construction Complexes in Lithuania“ introduce the general history of the construction of residential areas in Lithuania, examine the sociocultural role of their architecture, the extent to which they can be treated as cultural heritage. Also authors discuss what features could be taken into consideration today, analyzes the possibilities of building’s renovation.
