The dissertation studies road infrastructure safety management procedures and possibilities of their implementation on the roads of national significance of the Republic of Lithuania. The main objects of research ‒ accident prediction, road network safety ranking. The aim of the dissertation is by making use of the best practices of foreign countries to develop and introduce accident prediction model for the roads of national significance of Lithuania.

The following main tasks were solved in the dissertation: analysis of accident prediction methods, design of accident prediction algorithm for the roads of national significance of Lithuania, development of mathematical accident prediction models for homogenous groups of roads and junctions, classification of road network of national significance of Lithuania into homogenous road sections and junctions, realization of accident prediction model in a computer program, network safety ranking and determination of road sections road sections with a potentially high accident concentration, execution of test calculations of the program.

The dissertation consists of introduction, four chapters, general conclusions, the list of references and the list of author’s publications on the topic of the dissertation, 6 addenda.
