Description

The dissertation examines the long train ride control mode setting in order to save fuel and to reduce freight and passenger transportation time. The main objects of investigation are the train ride control and traffic scheduling. These objects during operation of railway traction rolling-stock are important for in the case of optimal selection of train control modes, longitudinal dynamic forces of the train are reduced, train traffic safety is improved. At the same time rational selection of train running time in the line possibly reduces fuel consumption for traction. The primary aim of the paper is to create methodologies and algorithms for establishment of long train rational modes of control and calculation of diesel commuter train running times for the line creating train traffic schedules. The paper also describes rolling-stock operational testing in major Lithuanian railway transport corridors.

5 articles focusing on the subject of the discussed dissertation are published: one article – in the journal of Thomson ISI data base, with Impact Factor; one article – in the journal of Thomson ISI register, without Impact Factor; and three articles – in Proceedings reviewed during international conferences. 3 presentations on the subject have been given in conferences at national and international level.
